Job summary

Rodeo Dental seeks a Dental Assistant with an active RDA license to support clinicians in a high-volume practice. You will perform chairside duties, manage instrumentation, and help educate patients on oral health while maintaining strict safety standards.

The role emphasizes patient care, adherence to protocols, and collaboration with the team in both office and hospital settings. A Texas RDA license and HS diploma are required; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Active RDA license with TSBDE.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Nitrous Oxide monitoring certification.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training.
• Dental software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• End of week inventory to Lead DA.
• Maintain patient safety as priority.
• Adhere to OSHA and infection control protocols.
• Maintain and update digital patient information.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences and procedures.
• Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, stocked, and organized.”
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits.
• Monitor patient well-being during visits.
• Review charts and health history before doctor arrives.
• Take diagnostic X-Rays and attach to charts.
• Support Rodeo Team in office cleanliness and IC protocol.
• Complete daily assignments.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs.
• Suction, sutures, retractors.
• Mix amalgam/cement/pulp paste; prepare impressions.
• Pour/trim/polish impression trays.
• Assist with bonding, banding, debonding orthodontics.
• Place/cement bands; set up brackets; remove excess cement.
• Make retainers and bleaching trays from impressions.
• Maintain crash cart equipment/supplies.
• Work with sedated patients in office and hospital settings.
• Provide excellent chairside assistance and stay in sync with doctor.
• Explain post-op instructions to patient/parent.
