Job summary

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics (CPO) in Springfield, IL seeks an ABC Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist to provide comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic patient care in an outpatient setting. You will deliver custom prosthetics, orthotics, gait analysis, and device fitting in collaboration with physicians and rehab teams.

The role requires evaluating mobility needs, designing evidence-based treatment plans, and ensuring optimal device fit and outcomes while maintaining ABC certification

Qualifications

• ABC Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics (CPO) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and clinical training.
• Strong understanding of biomechanics, human anatomy, prosthetic and orthotic componentry, and rehabilitation principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality prosthetic and orthotic patient care in accordance with ABC scope of practice, clinical best practices, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, gait analysis, and functional assessments to determine appropriate prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans.
• Design, fit, align, adjust, and troubleshoot prosthetic and orthotic devices to ensure comfort, biomechanical function, and patient satisfaction.
• Educate patients and caregivers on device use, wear schedules, rehabilitation goals, and long term care expectations.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and case managers to coordinate interdisciplinary treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation to support reimbursement, Medicare compliance, and clinical continuity of care.
