Job summary

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics (CPO) seeks an ABC Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) to deliver prosthetic and orthotic care in an outpatient Springfield, Illinois clinic. You will assess mobility needs, design evidence-based plans, and ensure device fit and long-term outcomes with interdisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes clinical autonomy, referral development, and growth within a growing healthcare organization.

Qualifications

• ABC Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics (CPO) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and clinical training.
• Strong understanding of biomechanics, human anatomy, prosthetic and orthotic components.
• Ability to manage patient caseload independently while maintaining documentation and compliance.
• Excellent communication and relationship building with patients and healthcare partners.
• Eligibility to practice under applicable state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality prosthetic and orthotic patient care per ABC scope of practice and standards.
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, gait analysis and functional assessments.
• Design, fit, align, adjust and troubleshoot devices for comfort and function.
• Educate patients and caregivers on device use, wear schedules and rehab goals.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and case managers to coordinate treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation to support reimbursement and compliance.
• Develop referral relationships to grow clinic access.
• Ensure services comply with licensure, certification standards and payer guidelines.
• Mentor support staff when applicable.
