Job summary

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics in Springfield, IL is seeking an ABC-Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to manage patient care from evaluation through long-term follow-up in our outpatient clinic serving Central Illinois.

You will design, fit, align, and troubleshoot prosthetic and orthotic devices, perform gait analysis, educate patients and caregivers, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to improve mobility and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Current ABC certification as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain state licensure for the position.
• Strong knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, prosthetic and orthotic components.
• Ability to independently manage a patient caseload and maintain timely clinical documentation.
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans.
• Design, fit, align, adjust, and troubleshoot devices to support comfort and function.
• Perform gait analysis and functional assessments throughout treatment.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding device use, rehab goals, and care.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate documentation supporting continuity of care and Medicare compliance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with referral partners in the Springfield region.
• Deliver care in accordance with ABC standards, state regulations, and payer requirements.
• Contribute to a collaborative clinic environment and provide mentorship when appropriate.
