Job summary

The City of Tullahoma Police Department is seeking Certified Police Officers. Applicants must be certified to be considered. Officers will maintain public safety, respond to emergencies, enforce laws and ordinances, and promote community relations within the City of Tullahoma.

Responsibilities include patrolling, investigating incidents, making arrests, processing evidence, and preparing reports for court. POST certification and TN guidelines apply, with the position under Police Department

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college coursework or degree preferred.
• POST certification required.
• Minimum age 21 years.
• Must not have a prior criminal record.
• Qualifications per Tennessee Code Annotated.

Responsibilities

• Enforce laws and ordinances to protect lives and property and maintain peace.
• Maintain police presence and deter crime while on patrol.
• Investigate suspicious persons and situations and respond to citizen calls.
• Perform physical actions to control suspects and ensure community safety.
• Arrest and incarcerate in accordance with legal requirements and orders.
• Monitor traffic and enforce regulations for safe driving.
• Prepare and submit required reports promptly after investigations.
• Respond to calls for service safely within assigned area.
• Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations of offenses.
• Assist CID with securing crime scenes and interviewing witnesses.
• Prepare cases for court and testify when needed.
• Observe radio transmissions and maintain professional conduct.
