Job summary

The City of Yuma Police Department is seeking motivated individuals to join Team Yuma as Certified Police Officers. A certified officer has completed a state-approved academy and holds current peace officer certification.

Arizona-based officers or out-of-state certified officers may pursue reciprocity; new recruits will complete the department’s Field Training Program and operate under AZPOST guidance and departmental policies.

Qualifications

• AZ POST certified officer, or previously certified in another state; reciprocity may apply.
• United States citizen.
• Sound physical and mental health.
• Uncorrected 20/20 vision (with glasses/contacts if needed) and color vision.
• Meets AZ POST and Yuma PD drug standards.
• Good moral character and personal integrity.
• High school diploma or GED.
