• Valid license and current registration to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the NYSED.

Responsibilities

• Implements physical therapy treatment programs based on medical prescriptions and licensed Physical Therapist evaluations for patients with various disorders.
• Utilizes therapies including exercises, massage, heat, light, sound, and electrical modalities.
• Observes patient reactions, compiles records, and submits written reports to supervisors.
• Adjusts treatment plans with approval from licensed Physical Therapists.
• Fits patients with supportive devices and provides training.
• Confers with physical therapy staff to exchange patient information.
• Assists with ordering supplies and coordinating equipment repairs.
• Performs clerical duties, such as inventory management and supply requisition.
• Completes necessary documentation according to departmental standards.
• Escorts residents to rehabilitation gym.
• Performs endorsements to units for carryover of care.

• Performs clerical duties, such as inventory management and supply requisition.
• Completes necessary documentation according to departmental standards.
• Escorts residents to rehabilitation gym.
• Performs endorsements to units for carryover of care.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid license and current registration to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
