Job summary

UCLA Outpatient Clinics is seeking a Phlebotomist to support a Phlebotomy Float Pool across ambulatory sites including Ronald Reagan Hospital and Santa Monica Hospital. You will perform phlebotomy for all ages, triage samples, and manage specimens and data entry in a fast-paced environment.

This per diem role may be assigned based on operational needs with rotating weekends and holidays, and there is potential for conversion to a career.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients for all ages
• Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information
• Centrifuge, measure and aliquot and/or preserve
• Enter and verify patient and test info into computer
• Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas
• Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage
• Prepare written reports to document phlebotomy draws, test results, test added, or deleted/rejected specimens
• Prepare batch or outside lab referral specimens' documentation
• Perform inventory count
• Assist in monitoring workflow and schedules

This is a per diem position and you may not necessarily be assigned to work the entire shift. Rather, you will be assigned to work based on operational needs with rotating weekends and holidays.

Salary Range: $33.74 - $33.74/hour
