UC San Diego Health seeks a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) to perform timely and accurate blood draws for inpatients, ED patients, and outpatients at UCSD Health facilities in San Diego. The CPT must hold a California CPT license and have at least two years of phlebotomy lab experience, with a focus on patient comfort and accurate data handling.
The Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) performs timely and accurate blood draws for inpatients, emergency department patients, and outpatients of all ages. They are responsible for specimen processing, accessioning, phlebotomy, heel and finger sticks, customer service, clerical duties, problem resolution, record keeping, supply inventory and maintenance, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Additional responsibilities include effective communication with laboratory customers, operation of instruments, and preventive maintenance appropriate to the assigned section/department. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with current laboratory safety standards. Maintains a current Phlebotomy Certification issued by the State of California Laboratory Field Services.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $65,020 - $85,796 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $31.14 - $41.09
