Job summary

West Valley Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team in Caldwell, Idaho. You will collect blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and communicate results to staff and physicians.

Qualifications include Phlebotomy Certification, one year of phlebotomy experience or training, BLS certification, and a valid driver's license. Strong communication, accuracy, and computer skills are essential in this role within a well‑supported, patient‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy Certification required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience or equivalent phlebotomy training program.
• Excellent communication/people skills and problem solving skills.
• Computer skills and filing/clerical skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• You will collect blood samples and body fluids from patients for laboratory testing including blood cultures and arterial samples for blood gas analysis.
• You will register specimens and orders tests in LIS and prepare/label samples for internal or external testing.
• You will communicate lab test requests and results to appropriate staff, departments, and/or physicians.
• You will collect and document urine drug screens requiring chain of custody and breath alcohol when required.
• You will assist with in‑services or training as assigned.
• You will assist with administrative duties within the laboratory.
