Job summary

Firelands-Health is seeking a patient-focused phlebotomy technician/medical assistant to perform clerical and phlebotomy duties in a fast-paced lab setting. You will greet patients, enter physician orders, and ensure proper patient identification during specimen collection.

Responsibilities include answering phones, relaying messages, and maintaining computerized systems while delivering clear, safe patient care to individuals of all ages in a busy Medical Center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required and recertified bi-annually.
• Experience in phlebotomy and ability to handle fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and enters physician orders into the laboratory computer system.
• Performs proper patient identification during specimen collections.
• Answers phones, completes requests, and relays messages.
• Maintains knowledge of computer applications used to carry out duties.
• Communicates clearly with coworkers, patients, and clients using all tools available.
• Serves patients of all ages in routine duties.
