Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to verify patient and specimen information and perform blood draws across adult, pediatric, and infant patients. You will process specimens following established procedures and maintain accurate records, while monitoring patient condition and reporting any abnormalities.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified in Phlebotomy from a National Organization preferred.
• Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy/medical assistant education program required.
• One year hospital setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies request, patient and specimen information.
• Draws blood from adult, pediatric and/or infant patients and processes specimens following established procedures and techniques.
• Follows in-process quality control procedures and maintains related records.
• Remains aware of patient emotional/physiological condition and reports abnormal conditions to the proper people.
• Performs related duties as required.
