05198 Phlebotomist STRHS-Lawrenceburg Job Description Job Summary Collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory.

Reports to: Director of Laboratory

FLSA: Non-exempt Essential Functions Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing. Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques. Maintains equipment and medical supplies. Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors. Nonessential Functions Perform other duties as assigned. • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned. • Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS. • Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary. • Accepts all call schedule as directed. • Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code. Organizational Expectations • Compliance to the STRH - Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance is required. • Compliance to Dress Code Standards • Should this job description be filled by a PRN employee, they will be subject to the requirements of that position. Job Requirements Required Skills Certifications: X Basic Life Support (BLS) □ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) □ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) □ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) □ Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) *Note: employee has 30 days to obtain certification from hire or transfer date Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Verifiable documentation of completed phlebotomy training course preferred. Minimum Education High School Diploma preferred
