UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Certified Pharmacy Tech to join our Outpatient Truman Pharmacy team. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

*Sign-On Bonus - $2,000*

Minimum $40,102 - Midpoint $50,117*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

UNM Truman Health Services Pharmacy seeks a dedicated, organized, and experienced Certified Pharmacy Technician committed to improving health outcomes for patients living with HIV.

The selected candidate will work in an integrated, multidisciplinary setting to deliver effective, efficient, and high-quality pharmacy services.

Summary

Under general supervision within UNMMG and UNM Truman Health Services guidelines, provides technical and administrative support in pharmacy operations, including dispensing prescriptions, customer service, billing, inventory, and data management.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Certified Pharmacy Tech

High school diploma or GED. Current registration with the State of New Mexico as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. National ExCPT or PTCB certification required. Relevant degree from an accredited institution may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. Verification of education and licensure will be required if hired.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Certified Pharmacy Tech

• Assist pharmacists in filling, preparing, and dispensing prescriptions; handle routine pharmaceutical orders.
• Assist patients with prescription drop-off and pickup; verify prescriptions at sale.
• Enter prescription data into computerized systems; maintain patient and insurance information.
• Manage billing data, monitor reimbursements, and communicate with providers and payers.
• Control inventory, process deliveries, and manage stock and orders.
• Process vendor invoices and monitor purchase orders.
• Handle cash and insurance payments, reconcile transactions, and maintain financial spreadsheets.
• Assist in packaging medications, including mail-order supplies.
• Train new staff on routine procedures.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Priority will be given to candidates experienced in providing social support to people living with HIV/AIDS and working with the LGBTQ+ community.
