Job summary

Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy in Springfield, MO is hiring Certified Pharmacy Technicians to support operations at the new Central Fill Pharmacy. You will help fulfill prescriptions, manage inventory using scanners, and assist pharmacists in daily tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

The role requires PTCB or ExCPT certification and state licensure where applicable, with a four‑ten shift schedule and a 10‑hour workday on a four‑day week.

Qualifications

  • Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Active national certification (PTCB PTCE or NHA ExCPT).
  • Experience with inventory control and reporting is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain medication inventory, restock, cycle counts, and report stock levels.
  • Process paperwork and prepare reports for pharmacy activities.
  • Assist pharmacists in fulfillment, handle claims/returns, maintain clean, safe environment.

Job Description

Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy is a specialized pharmacy that processes and dispenses prescriptions for multiple retail locations within a region. The pharmacy uses automation to fill prescriptions quickly and accurately and supports patient care for the community. We are seeking Certified Pharmacy Technicians to support operations at our new Central Fill Pharmacy in Springfield, MO.

Salary
  • Starting pay is $24.00/hr.
  • $2.00/hr differential for the second shift.
Schedule/Availability

Four‑day workweek consisting of four 10‑hour shifts. Sunday availability is required; candidates without Sunday availability will not be considered.

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (availability required between 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM (availability required between 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
Job Duties
  • Maintain and track medication inventory, restock and replenish medications, report low stock levels, ensure first‑in, first‑out rotation, perform inventory cycle counts, and create reports using inventory information systems.
  • Support the facility with reporting and paperwork to ensure productivity and pharmaceutical integrity, entering and modifying data, processing and submitting paperwork, and preparing reports for pharmacy activities.
  • Promote and maintain pharmacy professional reputation, deliver pharmacy products and services, assist pharmacists in the prescription fulfillment process, handle claims and returns, and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ensure fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions under supervision, using scanners and manual checks to verify product size, strength, and expiration dates, and prepare packages in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Maintain quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory by using automated inventory control scanners, tracking deliveries and stocking, and documenting control procedures.
  • Maintain pharmacy systems and technology, prepare informational records and reports, calibrate machines, and troubleshoot issues to minimize breakage.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and the Open Door Policy.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using resources, collaborating with managers and coworkers, and communicating progress and recommendations for improvement.
  • Move, lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Qualifications
  • Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure as required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Holds an active/valid national certification certificate issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT).
