Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join The Jewish Hospital. The role involves preparing pharmaceuticals, inventory control, audits, and handling financial transactions under the supervision of the Pharmacist.

You will provide customer service, maintain pharmacy records and educate patients on proper medication use, while protecting staff and patients through infection-control protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• ExCPT or PTCB certification and State Board registration required.
• Experience in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care or Home Infusion preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names and aseptic technique.
• Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and verifying prescriptions.
• Reviewing and recording patient information with prescriptions.
• Educating patients on correct medication use.
• Supporting the Pharmacist in daily operations.
• Adhering to infection-control protocols and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
