Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY, seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in our inpatient and retail pharmacies. You will help ensure safe medication management and excellent patient care across the system.

Responsibilities include IV admixture, dispensing assistance, inventory maintenance, and collaborating with providers and staff to verify insurance and process prescriptions.

Qualifications

• Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the PTCB or NHA.
• KY licensure eligibility: Pharmacy Technician (PHT) KY or Pharmacy Intern (PHI) KY.
• 1 year experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supports and assists the Pharmacist in the medication use process and patient care.
• Follows guidelines under pharmacist supervision for medication preparation and distribution.
• Involves IV admixture, dispensing assistance, and maintaining medications in unit-based cabinets.
• Handles verbal refill approvals, insurance verification, and pharmacy deliveries.

• Responsibilities include IV admixture, assisting the pharmacist with the dispensing of medications, maintaining medications in unit-based cabinets, taking verbal refill approvals from provider'soffices, insurance verification, working with technology, and deliveries of medications.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board(PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association(NHA)
