Job summary

Care New England Health System, including Women & Infants Hospital, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing, dispensing and inventory management of medications. You will support infection control, QA activities, and daily Infusion Center operations while maintaining patient records and adhering to confidentiality policies.

The successful candidate will hold a High School diploma, CPHT certification, RI Tech II license, and demonstrate computer proficiency and excellent

Qualifications

High School graduate with pharmacy experience or hospital-based training leading to certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
Must be certified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board with the CPHT certification and licensed through the RI Board of Pharmacy as a Tech II.
Able to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights, and every other weekend and holiday.
Experience with computers and strong interpersonal skills; proficient in English.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in preparing, dispensing and maintaining inventory of drugs and medications.
Fill, check and deliver medication orders; label medications and maintain patient records.
Audit controlled substances and manage pharmacy inventory.
Support Infection Control and Quality Assurance standards; participate in department reporting and QA activities.
Assist in day-to-day operations of the Infusion Center; maintain documentation and records.
