Job summary

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two (2) years additional education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Physician orders are evaluated accurately for input into the pharmacy system.
• Review incompatibility, drug interaction, and allergy data for each order.
• Ensure adverse drug reactions are reported accurately.
• Input orders timely and consistent with workload.
• Check all medications and IV solutions dispensed for accuracy.
• Weigh, measure, admix, and label all dispensed pharmaceuticals correctly.

A Pharmacy Technician usually spends the day on their feet finding medications, counting, calculating, packaging, and labeling prescriptions.

What You Will Do

• Physicians orders are evaluated accurately for input into the pharmacy computer system for all disease states and patient age groups.
• Incompatibility data, drug interaction data, and drug allergy information is thoroughly reviewed for each order processed.
• Adverse drug reactions reported are accurate and thorough.
• Orders input is timely and consistent with workload demands.
• All medications and intravenous solutions dispensed are checked for accuracy and completeness.
• All dispensed pharmaceuticals are accurately weighed, measured, admixed, and labeled properly.

Minimum Qualifications
