Job summary

Yoakum Community Hospital is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role includes preparing medications, maintaining inventories, processing orders, and supporting pharmacotherapy safety for patients across all ages.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician within 1 year of placement and ongoing CE requirements.
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration is required.
• Minimum six months pharmacy experience or equivalent preferred; Texas certification current.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor stock throughout the Hospital.
• Fill and deliver unit dose carts.
• Prepare medications per orders; pick up and deliver to patient care areas.
• Process intravenous solutions and admixtures; perform repackaging as needed.
• Maintain inventory, rotate stock, check expirations, and handle recalls.
• Process orders with wholesalers, check in stock, and manage invoices.
• Enter orders into the computer system and maintain patient profiles.
• Assist with billing, data collection, and quality management data.
• Contribute to age-appropriate care and comply with policies and regulations.
• Support Pharmacist in monitoring patient drug therapy for interactions and safety.

Education

Certified Pharmacy Technician in Texas

Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy

Minimum 6 months experience or equivalent (preferred)
