Actalent is seeking a Fully Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician to evaluate and authorize prior authorization requests from prescribers using clinical criteria. The role supports communication of coverage and formulary alternatives in a call center setting.

Responsibilities include determining med appropriateness, communicating decisions to physicians and staff, and escalating complex cases to a pharmacist.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment.

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will evaluate and authorize approval of commercial prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers using clinical criteria in a call center environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• State registration/license
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB or NHA).
• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment

Work Environment

This is a 100% remote position.

The role involves 8-hour shifts between 7:15am CST - 9 pm CST, 5 days a week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
