Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for a fully remote role handling prior authorization requests from prescribers in a call center setting. The position is Contract to Hire and based out of Eagan, MN, with 8-hour shifts from 7:15am CST to 9pm CST, five days per week.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, state licensure, and national certification (PTCB or NHA) with 1+ year of retail or call center pharmacy experience.

Job description

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will evaluate and authorize approval of commercial prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers using clinical criteria in a call center environment.

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.

• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.

• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.

Requirements

Work Environment

This is a 100% remote position.

The role involves 8-hour shifts between 7:15am CST - 9 pm CST, 5 days a week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
