Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to evaluate and authorize prior authorization requests in a remote call center setting. You will use clinical criteria to determine coverage and communicate formulary alternatives to prescribers.

You will escalate complex cases to a pharmacist and collaborate with physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists. This 100% remote contract role is based out of Newark, NJ and requires state licensure and national certification.

Qualifications

Job description

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will evaluate and authorize approval of commercial prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers using clinical criteria in a call center environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• State registration/license

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB or NHA).

• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment

Work Environment

This is a 100% remote position.

The role involves 8-hour shifts between 7:15am CST - 9 pm CST, 5 days a week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Newark, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
