Job summary

The Centers in Cleveland, OH are seeking a Pharmacy Technician II under direct supervision of a Pharmacist to assist with medication preparation, distribution, inventory, and billing. The role focuses on accurate processing of prescriptions and maintaining compliance with HIPAA and DEA regulations.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma, Ohio Pharmacy Technician license, and at least 6 months of experience, with 2–3 years preferred, plus BLS certification or willingness to obtain it

Job Summary

Under direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II performs a wide variety of pharmaceutical services including medication preparation and distribution, inventory, and billing. The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for performing the majority of the technical functions in the Pharmacy.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
  • Minimum of 6 months of work experience as a Pharmacy Technician, 2-3 years preferred
  • BLS certified or willing to become certified upon hire
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Process new and refill prescriptions while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Provide exceptional patient care by engaging with patients and working to meet their needs.
  • Adhere to company, state, and federal regulations, policies, and laws, including HIPAA, DEA, and Ohio
Board of Pharmacy requirements.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels by ordering appropriately and rotating stock.
  • Maintain records for the pharmacy and ensure organization is kept up to standards for easy retrieval.
  • Contact a prescriber or prescriber's agent to obtain clarification for a prescription order if the clarification

does not require the exercise of professional judgment.

  • Perform duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of

quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following

departmental procedures and policies

  • Check and remove outdates meds on a routine basis to ensure that no deteriorated meds are in stock.

Keep records accordingly.

  • Commit to continuing education by attending training and keeping up with policy changes.
  • The successful candidate shall display dependability, flexibility, reliability, team playing, and accept

supervision.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all client, staff, and agency-related data in accordance with The Centers policies.
