Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our inpatient and retail pharmacies across the system. You will support pharmacists in medication use, prepare and distribute medications, and help deliver safe patient care in a team-driven environment.

Requirements include active CPhT through PTCB or NHA, KY licensure eligibility (PHT or PHI), and high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
• One of: Pharmacy Technician (PHT), KY OR Pharmacy Intern (PHI), KY. Register for licensure via Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Supports & assists the Pharmacist in the medication use process with safe and efficient medication management and patient care (neonate to geriatric).
• Follows guidelines under supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution.
• Functions in a team-oriented environment to provide medications to patients.
• Responsibilities include IV admixture, assisting dispensing, maintaining unit-based medication cabinets, taking verbal refill approvals, insurance verification, and medication deliveries.
