Job summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in inpatient and retail pharmacies across the system. The role focuses on safe medication management and direct patient care, with opportunities to work in IV admixture and medication dispensing.

The position emphasizes teamwork and flexibility to ensure timely delivery of medications, insurance verification, and collaboration with providers’ offices. KY licensure or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
• AND One Of: Pharmacy Technician (PHT), KY OR Pharmacy Intern (PHI), KY; you can register for licensure via Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
• 1 year experience working in pharmacy.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Supports & assists the Pharmacist in the medication use process by providing safe and efficient medication management & patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric), physicians, employees, and the public.
• Requires following appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution.
• Functions in an environment which requires teamwork and flexibility to provide medications to patients.
• Responsibilities include IV admixture, assisting the pharmacist with the dispensing of medications, maintaining medications in unit-based cabinets, taking verbal refill approvals from provider’s offices, insurance verification, working with technology, and deliveries of medications.
