Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Salt Lake City seeks a Certified Pharmacy Tech to assist the Pharmacist with medication preparation and distribution, demanding precision and strict adherence to regulations.

You will perform pharmaceutical calculations, compound non-sterile dosage forms, and operate inventory systems and automated cabinets in a fast-paced, regulated environment while maintaining patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state where the employee works (PHARMTECH:CO).
• National PTCB certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Alerts pharmacy director, coordinator, clinical coordinator, or pharmacist of immediate problems requiring corrective action in a timely manner.
• Fills unit dose cart, floor stock, medication orders and delivers to patient care areas to ensure availability of ordered drugs and supplies.
• Prepares I.V. admixtures using sterile technique.
• Prepares prescriptions for pharmacist review and dispensing in a timely manner.
• Checks floor stock and/or pharmacy stock for outdates, overstock, and proper storage monthly.
• Screens nursing and physician inquiries and directs to appropriate pharmacist for accurate communication.
