Job summary

YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas seeks a Personal Trainer to develop and implement safe, enjoyable exercise programs tailored to each member. You will work with staff to welcome and engage all participants, maintaining records and promoting wellness across the club.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service and professional conduct, with ongoing trainings and the chance to advance in a supportive community setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum 6 months experience in the wellness field.
• Must hold a nationally recognized PT certification.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 certification required.
• Background checks and required trainings must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Support YMCA mission, vision and goals.
• Design safe, individualized programs based on participant needs.
• Provide proper instruction on form and technique.
• Maintain accurate client records.
• Attend staff trainings and meetings as scheduled.
• Lead in emergencies and follow safety procedures.
