Job summary

We Care Daily Clinics seeks a Certified Peer Support Specialist for Early Engagement in Auburn, WA. This non-clinical, peer-support role emphasizes recovery-oriented care and mutuality for newly enrolled members, typically within the first 30 days.

You'll build relationships, connect clients to initial appointments (dose evaluations, orientations, groups), and provide culturally relevant, trauma-informed support. A WA DOH certification and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• WA State Certified Peer Support Specialist Credential, Pending by the time of hire (required)
• At least 1 year experience as a certified peer specialist
• Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record
• Strong communication, professionalism, and organizational skills
• Self-identified as a person in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use condition or have a family member with such experience
• Commitment to recovery values including self-determination, peer support, and empowerment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and model professional boundaries

Responsibilities

• Build recovery-oriented relationships using mutual respect, trust, and lived experience
• Support members in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness
• Provide trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and non-judgmental peer support
• Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups, education sessions, or engagement activities
• Offer harm-reduction resources, information, and linkage to services
• Document services provided in a timely, accurate, and ethical manner
• Maintain peer role boundaries and uphold the DOH Code of Ethics for Certified Peer Counselors
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and represent the voice of lived experience
• Advocate for the member internally and externally
• Connect members with initial appointments to ensure program retention within the first 30 days

Rate of pay:$31.00

Position Summary:

Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) are individuals withlivedexperience in behavioral health recovery who are certified by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) to provide peer support services. CPSSs use their lived experience to support others in finding their own path to wellness and recovery. They provide non-clinical, person-centered support in alignment with DOH guidelines, emphasizing mutuality, empowerment, and recovery-oriented systems of care.

CPSS –EarlyEngagement

• Provide person-centered care to newly enrolled members, typically within the first 30 days
• Connect members with all necessary initial appointments to include dose evaluations, ASAMs, Orientations, Groups, and other opportunities for early engagement, to ensure program retention
• Provides transportation support through individualized support through individualized door to door services as appropriate
• Transport members upon provider request when available.
• Will not hold a regular caseload, but a revolving caseload after some level of stability is achieved.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

• WA State Certified Peer Support Specialist Credential, Pending by the time of hire(required)
• At least 1 year experience as a certified peer specialist
