Qualifications

• CPSS certification required.
• Lived experience in recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorder.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation with current automobile insurance.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive, recovery-focused relationships using your lived experience.
• Provide one-on-one peer mentoring and recovery coaching.
• Facilitate recovery groups focusing on wellness, coping skills, relapse prevention, budgeting, employment readiness, daily living skills, and community integration.
• Help members identify and achieve their personal recovery goals.
• Connect members with housing, employment, education, healthcare, transportation, benefits, and other community resources.
• Help members strengthen natural supports and build meaningful community relationships.
• Promote self-advocacy, wellness, resilience, and independent living.
• Participate in Person-Centered Planning and support recovery goals in the Person-Centered Plan.
• Complete accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Communicate member progress and concerns with the Qualified Professional and treatment team.
• Recognize behavioral health crises and follow agency emergency procedures.
