About Cherry Hospital

A Place of Hope, Care, and Recovery. Located in Goldsboro, NC, Cherry Hospital is a state-of-the-art psychiatric facility serving eastern North Carolina. It is conveniently located near Raleigh/Durham and the coast.

Job Responsibilities
  • Facilitating Peer Support groups and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) classes within the treatment mall program.
  • Providing peer support for individual patients as requested by the treatment team.
  • Participating in hospital committees and Treatment Team meetings.
Qualifications
  • Certified Peer Support Specialist.
  • Knowledge of mental health/substance use recovery principles, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and person-centered approaches.
  • Ability to facilitate groups, advocate for peers, and assist in navigating healthcare and social services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
  • At least one year of experience with severe mental illness or substance abuse.
  • Training or certification in WRAP program instruction.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements

Ability to perform light to moderate physical activity.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Conditions

Listing as Nurse Aide I or II, or EMT certification, may be required for continued employment.

Sign-on Bonus Eligibility
