Job summary

One Love Agency in Idaho is seeking a compassionate Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) and/or Youth Support Service Worker (YSS) to join our team. You will guide adults and youth through mental health challenges, addiction recovery, and co-occurring disorders while building and managing your own caseload.

You will collaborate with therapists and social workers, conduct assessments, and develop personalized support plans.

Qualifications

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) and/or Certified Youth Support Specialist (YSS) in Idaho.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Previous experience with adults and/or youth in supportive or mentorship roles, esp. addiction recovery/co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong understanding of mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, empathy, and rapport-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills for documentation and data entry.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Remote Work out of the office but in person work in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a case load of adult and/or youth clients, providing ongoing support, advocacy, and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and medical personnel to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct regular assessments and develop individualized support plans based on client needs and goals.
  • Provide emotional support, guidance, and coping skills for addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders.
  • Facilitate peer support groups and other group activities to foster community and connection.
  • Advocate for rights and needs, assisting navigation of mental health services, housing, employment, etc.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress in compliance with confidentiality and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills in peer support services.

Job Summary:

Qualifications:
  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) and/or Certified Youth Support Specialist (YSS) in the state of Idaho.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications in psychology, social work, addiction counseling, or related fields are preferred.
  • Previous experience working with adults and/or youth in a supportive or mentorship capacity, particularly in addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals dealing with mental health issues, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to actively listen, empathize, and build rapport with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a case load, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills for documentation and data entry.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Remote Work out of the office but in person work in the community
