Job summary

Elwyn seeks a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) to provide outreach during crises and connect individuals to resources within a trauma-informed framework. The CPS will work with the Mobile Crisis team and medical professionals to stabilize crises and link people to services for both immediate and long-term needs.

The role requires CPS certification, strong peer-support skills, and the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, in a mission-driven nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.
• CPS certification through Delaware Certification Board.
• Must be comfortable sharing wellness experiences to support peers.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and support to individuals in recovery.
• Assist in Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) changes as needs evolve.
• Mentor individuals in recovery to promote hope and skills for employment.
• Document progress in medical records per guidelines.
• Collaborate with the CPS team to respect rights and promote self-determination.
• Lead group activities to enhance social skills and recovery.
