Job summary

GESMV is seeking a Certified Peer Mentor to help families navigate child welfare systems, delivering peer support and promoting healing. You will work with Ohio START case workers and behavioral health providers to ensure seamless wrap-around services and maintain high ethical standards.

Ideal candidates have lived experience with child welfare, a valid driver's license, and at least two years in behavioral health peer recovery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter or able to become certified after hire.
• Minimum 2 years of recovery from substance use disorder; 3+ preferred.
• Lived experience with child welfare system or related exposure.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to families navigating child welfare services.
• Collaborate with case workers and behavioral health providers to ensure wrap-around services.
• Assist with family meetings, safety planning, and transportation as needed.
• Document services timely per guidelines and data reporting.
• Refer to appropriate professionals or agencies when indicated.
