Job summary

Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) seeks a part-time Peer Recovery Supporter to engage and support individuals with addictions in Hamilton County, Ohio. The role provides recovery education, resources, and guidance, and collaborates with partners to connect clients with housing, treatment, benefits, and employment services.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Certification (or within 90 days), and at least 12 months of lived recovery

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Lived experience of substance use disorder and active in maintaining recovery for at least 12 months.
• Knowledge of substance use disorder system, mental health system, and healthcare strongly desired.
• Drug test required prior to start.
• Position requires regular driving of the employee’s personal vehicle with valid license.

Responsibilities

• Participates in face-to-face outreach efforts to individuals with substance use issues, including homelessness in Hamilton County.
• Works with community partners to coordinate services for clients, especially housing, treatment, benefits, and job placement.
• Assesses individuals for substance use disorders and basic needs.
• Provides information on resources, treatment and sober support for recovery.
• Delivers recovery education and support to individuals with substance use disorder.
• Connects with individuals recently in contact with emergency services related to overdose.
• Assists with implementation of individual client recovery plans.
