Job summary

Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana seeks a Certified Recovery Specialist to join its expanding team in Ohio. The CRS will provide recovery coaching, skills training, and one-on-one support to clients in collaboration with case managers and treatment counselors.

The role requires CRS or ICAADA Recovery Coach certification, a high school diploma (Associate’s preferred), and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma; an Associate’s degree is preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Recovery Specialist and/or ICAADA Recovery Coach or equivalent is required.
• Must pass state, county, and DCS background checks.
• A valid Driver’s License and clean driving record are required.
• First Aid & CPR certification is required and must be maintained; VOAOHIN will provide certification if not obtained.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused recovery and skills training and one-on-one coaching to clients in accordance with CRS code of ethics, DMHA, DCS, Recovery Works, and VOA policies.
• Coordinate with the case manager and treatment counselor to deliver, document, and supervise direct services to clients.
• Support treatment outcomes and contribute to program goals through documentation and client interaction.

The Certified Recovery Coach is responsible for focused support of clients during treatment. The CRS will work very closely with the case manager and treatment counselor to coordinate, deliver, and document direct service to clients. The primary focus of a CRS is the delivery of recovery and/or skills training and one‑on‑one coaching to clients in accordance with the CRS code of ethics, DMHA, Department of Child Services, Recovery Works, and VOA policies and procedures.
