Job summary

Covenant Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patients with daily living activities and delegated procedures. The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, clean, hazard-free environment to enable patient-focused care and effective teamwork with licensed nurses.

Qualified candidates will have CPCT or current graduation from a state-approved PCT program, plus BLS certification and relevant national credentials.

Qualifications

• Combined equivalent experience and certification needed for function and level or current graduate of a state-approved PCT program (CPCT).
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Upon hire: National Certified Patient Care Technician - National Association for Health Professionals. Or
• Upon hire: National Certified Patient Care Technician - National Center for Competency Testing. Or
• Upon hire: National Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant - National Healthcareer Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living as delegated by the licensed nurse.
• Maintain a safe, hazard-free and clean environment to support patient-focused care.
• Assist with procedures as delegated and communicated by the licensed nurse.

Job description

he Patient Care Technician assists patients with activities of daily living and selective procedures delegated and communicated by the licensed nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Combined equivalent experience and certification needed for function and level or current graduate of a state-approved PCT program (CPCT).

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months of PCT experience in an acute care setting.
• 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
