Job summary

AdventHealth DeLand is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to join our team. This full-time role supports patient care under RN supervision, with a focus on safety, documentation, and compassionate service.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient comfort, assisting in procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Requires high school diploma and active BLS/CPR and CNA or equivalent certification. Night shift availability emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• CNA/CPCT/NCPCT/NCT-C or EMT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments and patient care according to policy and patient age, mobility, and acuity.
• Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies.
• Assist in delivering patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Document procedures and reports per department policy.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare team.

Job Description

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Required] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Required] OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]

Pay Range

$16.02 - $25.63
