Job summary

AdventHealth Palm Coast is hiring a patient care technician to assist in delivering patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse. You will accurately take vital signs, document in the EMR, and follow policies to ensure safety and quality of care.

The role requires a high school diploma, CPR/BLS certification, and experience-based qualifications; CNA/CPCT/A/EMT are preferred. This is a full-time, day-shift position at 1 AdventHealth Way, Palm Coast, FL 32137.

Qualifications

• High School grad or equivalent required.
• 1+ PCT experience preferred.
• BLS required.
• CNA preferred.
• CPCT/A preferred.
• EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Accurately take vital signs and document in EMR.
• Follow policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare team.
• Maintain clean and safe patient environment.

Job Description:

Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse. Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy. Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure. Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.
