Who You Are

We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. This person should have a genuine interest in geriatric care, be able to motivate others, and maintain good relationships with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do their best, be creative, and work towards facility goals.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation and the Staff Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant performs patient care and related activities as assigned.

Accountabilities
  • Treats patients as directed by a licensed therapist.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a collaborative team approach with patients, clients, and team members.
  • Maintains productivity standards as determined by supervisor and clinical needs.
  • Follows Medicare and reimbursement regulations.
  • Develops effective treatment plans with goal-based outcomes and secures approval/orders from physicians.
  • Documents clinical activities according to regulations and professional guidelines.
  • Records daily treatment charges as per billing guidelines.
  • Instructs families and nursing staff on restorative/home programs as directed.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and care conferences.
  • Coordinates with other departments and physicians.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies, and ensures the rehab area is clean and safe.
  • On-call status during off-hours, emergencies, and disasters as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Assistant Program and certified/licensed as a Physical or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Ability to read regulations and communicate clearly and courteously.
  • Effective management and decision-making skills.
  • Tactful interaction with personnel, residents, families, and external agencies.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement resident care programs.
  • Physical ability to perform essential duties (see attached requirements).
