Who You Are:

We seek a positive, customer-service-oriented Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant with a genuine interest in geriatric care. The ideal candidate motivates residents, maintains strong relationships with staff and residents, strives for excellence, and works creatively to meet facility goals.

Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation and Staff Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant performs patient care activities as assigned.

Accountabilities:
  • Treats patients as directed by licensed therapists.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and team collaboration.
  • Maintains productivity standards.
  • Follows Medicare and reimbursement regulations.
  • Develops effective, goal-based treatment plans with physician approval.
  • Records clinic documentation per regulatory guidelines.
  • Records daily treatment charges.
  • Instructs families and nursing staff on restorative/home programs.
  • Participates in team meetings and care conferences.
  • Coordinates with other departments and physicians.
  • Ensures equipment and supply needs are met and the rehab area is maintained safely and cleanly.
  • Available for “on-call” status during off-hours and emergencies.
Qualifications:
  1. Graduate of an accredited Assistant Program with certification/licensure.
  2. Ability to read regulations and communicate clearly and courteously.
  3. Effective management and decision-making skills.
  4. Ability to interact tactfully with residents, staff, families, and external agencies.
  5. Competent in planning, organizing, and implementing resident care programs.
  6. Physical ability to perform essential duties (see attached requirements).
