Job summary

IEP Corp in Apple Valley, CA is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our skilled nursing team. You will assess and treat residents with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial challenges to help them regain independence and improve quality of life.

The role reports to the supervising OT/ Rehabilitation Director. Requirements include CPR, current COTA license, 1–2 years in long-term care preferred, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Valid Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant license required.
• 1–2 years of long-term care experience preferred.
• Must be in good physical and mental health.
• Able to meet the physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Experience working under supervision in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Understand physical medicine, therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
• Be familiar with operating, maintaining, and repairing physical therapy equipment.
• Administer treatment and rehabilitation services to patients with injuries or disabilities.
• Follow treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient treatment and progress.
• Assist in creating educational plans tailored to learning needs.
• Ensure that documentation aligns with current standards and policies.
• Comply with the facility's policies and procedures.
