Job summary

Aurora of CNY, an affiliate of Liberty Resources, is seeking a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support the Blind Rehabilitation Services Program in Syracuse, NY. The role provides direct O&M services to legally blind and visually impaired consumers, promoting independence and safety.

Requirements include a Master’s degree or BA with O&M Certification (AER) and a NY driver’s license. Competitive salary and benefits are offered, with collaborative team support and opportunities

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with O&M Certification from an AER-approved program.
• AER Certification in Orientation & Mobility required.
• Must have a valid New York State driver’s license or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with consumers to maximize independence and functioning.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to identify strengths and barriers and set goals.
• Develop and implement Care Plans and IEPs in coordination with providers.
• Maintain relationships with community service providers for ongoing support.
• Complete documentation and case records in accordance with program standards.
