Job description

Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Technician - Ophthalmology * Days - 40hrs/wk.

Shift: Days

Schedule would be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

General Summary:
Employee functions in a support role; assisting the health care provider in the delivery of quality health care services in the ambulatory setting.
Requirements:

  1. Requirement: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant – Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology
  2. 2-5 Years of experience in a busy Ophthalmology office.
  3. Completion of competency based orientation
  4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) provider—required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Carries out orders in the delivery of patient care as assigned by the Office Manager or physician.
  2. Performs duties related to patient’s care.
  3. Documents patients encounter accurately and completely.
  4. Maintains a clean and safe environment at all times.
  5. Responds to emergency situations and reacts in a manner which safeguards the patients and staff.
  6. Performs other duties as needed.
  7. Continually updates knowledge by attending mandatory education, in-services, must obtain required CEUs, read articles and post educational updates.
  8. Participates as an active team member and influences others positively.
  9. Communicates effectively and positively and promotes great customer service. Maintains confidentiality and privacy at all times.
