The candidate must have three years of ophthalmic tech experience, be proficient in relevant imaging techniques, and hold a Certified Ophthalmic Technician credential.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years work experience as an Ophthalmic Technician with proficiency in Goldman Visual Fields, Biometrics, Fluorescein Angiography and Retinal Photography.
  • Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, pathology, and terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care during physician office visits.
  • Perform biometrics, visual field examinations, B scan ultrasound, tonometry, and keratometry.
  • Perform ophthalmic photography (fluorescein angiography, external photos, stereo photos, anterior segment photos).
  • Review, label and file completed photographs and slides; interpret stereoscopic slides.
  • Set up and maintain cameras and ophthalmic equipment; develop ophthalmic film.
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking, problem solving, and strong interpersonal skills.
