Job summary

Beloit Health System in Beloit Clinic Ophthalmology is hiring for a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. This is a 1st shift, 8a-5p, 40 hours per week position.

The role will schedule biometrics, order supplies, perform visual fields, assist in exams with providers, complete scribe duties, document patient records, and support the department as needed. Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Ophthalmology Program, or High School Diploma with 2 years of experience.
• Must complete certification within 2 years or hire.
• Experience in Ophthalmology Department
• Exceptional customer services skills

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient medical records in preparation for appointment
• Escorts patient to room and updates medical history and vitals
• Prepares patient for exam by completing diagnostic procedures as directed
• Assesses interior chamber depth
• Assists with fundus photography and fluorescein angiography
• Performs biometrics
• Prepares patient for examination or procedures
• Assists with patient inquiries
• May act as scribe
