Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support students in special and alternative education settings under IEP/ISP guidelines.

You may also assist with assessments as required by state and district mandates. You will implement OT interventions to improve fine motor skills, monitor progress, collaborate with teachers and families, and complete required documentation in a timely, organized manner.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy assistant.
• NBCOT certification and/or valid state certification as required by state.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with adults and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy intervention to improve fine motor coordination per IEP/ISP goals.
• Monitor student progress.
• Test and evaluate students to determine need for OT when requested.
• Consult with teachers to align OT plans with educational needs.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and home activities.
• Develop and implement solutions for individual student challenges.
• Make referrals to community resources as needed.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely and organized manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
