Job summary

Adept Nursing & Rehab of Central City is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team. You will implement treatment plans, assist residents with daily living activities, and help them regain independence in a friendly skilled nursing setting.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited COTA program, active or eligible state licensure, and strong communication and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program.
  • Current state COTA license or eligibility to obtain.
  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist residents with therapeutic activities to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and independence.
  • Provide training in activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and bathing.
  • Document resident progress and communicate updates to the therapy team.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive therapy environment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident care plans.
  • Educate residents and families on therapy techniques and adaptive equipment.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. This role focuses on helping residents improve their ability to perform activities of daily living and achieve their highest level of independence.
