Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support inpatient physical medicine. You will participate in assessments, implement treatment plans, and document patient progress under supervision. The role emphasizes patient care across age groups, from neonatal to geriatric, and requires collaboration with therapists and staff.

Must be a graduate of an OTA program with a current license or eligibility. BLS certification is required, and some experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience preferred but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under OT supervision.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and continued need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatments per policies.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records.
• Participate in department education and training.
• Demonstrate knowledge of care for diverse age groups from neonatal to geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
