Mercy Hospital Guthrie, OK, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The role involves assisting with assessments, documenting patient care, and administering treatment procedures in accordance with Mercy standards.

Must be a graduate of an accredited OTA program with an eligible or active state license and BLS certification.

Qualificações

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification required and must be current before providing patient care independently.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under direction from OT/RT L and according to department policies.
• Document the course of patient care, including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per departmental policies.
• Maintain progress notes and department records for documentation and charges.
• Promote education within the department and work with diverse age groups from neonatal to geriatric.

Position Details:

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Full-time, 40 hours per weekMercy Hospital Logan County - Guthrie, OKUnder the general supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and according to standards of treatment, assists with objective assessments as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for patients of all age ranges, according to departmental policies and procedures. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient upon receiving direction from O.T.R./L. and according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and the continuing need for treatment according to departmental policy.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures according to departmental policies and procedures on standards of treatment care.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient according to departmental policies regarding documentation and charges.
• Participate in promoting education within the department- Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors of specific age groups to include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupation Therapist Assistant program.

Licensure: Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.

Experience : One year experience is preferred, but will consider new graduates.

Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
